How to duplicate a stream

Duplicating a stream in Ledger is a great way to save time when you're working with repeatable workflows or similar project setups. Whether you're managing client campaigns, onboarding new hires, or replicating internal processes, the ability to clone an entire stream helps you get started faster.

🔁 How to Duplicate a Stream

  1. Locate the Stream

Go to the All Streams section or your sidebar, and hover over the stream you’d like to duplicate.

  2. Open Stream Options

Click the three dots (ellipsis) icon to open the stream menu.

  3. Select Duplicate

Choose "Duplicate Stream" from the dropdown.

    Customize the New Stream

    You'll be prompted to:

    • Name the new stream
    • Add an optional description
    • Choose which elements to include in the duplication

🔧 What You Can Duplicate

You’ll have control over what you want to carry over into the new stream. You can choose to include or exclude entire categories:

✅ Tasks

  • Keep assignees, due dates, tags, and descriptions
  • Preserve subtasks and column structure
  • Choose to maintain collaborators from the original stream

✅ Documents

  • Copy documents, along with who they're assigned to and their due dates

✅ Events

  • Include all events, along with assignees, due dates, statuses, and descriptions

✅ Whiteboards

  • Bring over all whiteboards from the original stream for continued collaboration

Note: You cannot select individual items to duplicate (e.g., one task or one doc); you either include all items in a category or none.

🧹 What’s Not Duplicated

To ensure your new stream starts with a clean slate:

  • Comments will not be copied
  • Files and attachments will not transfer over
  • Activity logs will be reset

💡 Coming Soon: Save as Template

Soon, you’ll be able to save any stream as a reusable template—great for recurring project types and onboarding workflows.

Duplicating a stream is the fastest way to reuse a successful setup. Give it a try and streamline your next project in seconds! 🚀
