Managing Your Tasks

The Tasks tab is located in the global section of your sidebar. This is where you can view all tasks that are assigned to you or are created by you. It compiles those tasks from all of the streams you are part of. Instead of checking each stream's Tasks tab, save time by checking the global Tasks tab.

How to use the tasks tab

Use the filter to view tasks by status. The default filter has a star icon next to it. For example, if you select All Open as default, you'll only see open tasks when you click the Tasks tab. To set the default view, simply hover over a selection and check or uncheck the star.

NOTE: Changing the default filter doesn't adjust the current view. For example, in the image below, the default filter has been changed, but the currently selected filter is still All Open.

How to view the tasks table

Clicking the filter icon next to each column's name will rearrange the order of the rows. Following are the 9 columns of the Tasks table:

Name Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the task names.
Stream Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the stream names.
Priority

Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of priority.

  • Ascending: No priority < Low < Normal < High
  • Descending: High > Normal > Low > No priority
Added Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the date a task was added.
Updated Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the date a task was updated.
Due Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the due date of a task.
Sub Tasks Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the percentage (%) of subtasks completed.
Tags

Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of tags.

When there is more than one tag assigned to a task:

  • Ascending: The tag with the first letter closer to "A" is considered the main tag.
  • Descending: The tag with the first letter closer to "Z" is considered the main tag.
Collaborators

Filter sorts the tasks in the ascending/descending order of the names of collaborators.

  • Your name is displayed as "Me."
  • If a task is assigned to you and other teammates, the ascending/descending order will consider "Me" as the primary collaborator.

How to make changes to a task

You can edit the details, add comments, or add files directly from the Tasks tab.

  1. Click the name of the task you'd like to edit. The task appears on the side.
  2. Make changes to the task. When editing the name of the task or subtask, click the checkmark to save.
  3. Changes are automatically saved and applied to the table.
TIP: To jump right to the stream where the task was created, select the task and click the arrow icon (Jump to stream button) next to the task name.

Tips for using the tasks tab

  • To mark a task completed or closed, simply click the checkbox located left to a task's name.
  • To move a task to a different stream, open the task and click the ellipsis icon in the upper right corner. Then click Move task and select the new stream and column.
  • Clicking the stream's name under the Stream column will take you to the selected stream.
  • The Due column displays a bar to visualize how far you are away from the due date. Hover over the cell to see the exact due date.
  • The Sub Tasks column displays a bar to visualize how far you are away from the due date. Hover over the cell to see the exact number of completed subtasks.
  • Drag and drop the columns side to side to re-order to your preference.
