Your Sidebar
The sidebar is your primary hub that helps you navigate through Ledger and access its helpful tools. Learn how to use and adjust your sidebar to your preference.
Sidebar overview
At the top of the sidebar, you see the name of the workspace you're currently viewing.
Below the workspace name is the global search field. Use it to look for information all across the current workspace.
The sidebar is mainly divided into two sections: global and streams sections. A horizontal divider separates these two sections.
- The global section includes Activity, Tasks, Docs, Ideas, Events, and Saved. These tabs combine and display information from all of your streams within the current workspace.
- The streams section includes All streams, Favorites, folders, and all of your current streams. Use this section to organize streams.
At the bottom of the sidebar is your profile icon and name. Together, it works as a button to open a menu for additional settings (profile, settings, integration, notifications, theme, and logout).
NOTE: Only workspace owners and admins will see the Add new teammates button between Add new stream and their names.
How to hide the sidebar
You can hide the sidebar to get the full view of your work for a more open experience.
- Hover over the sidebar.
- Click the arrow icon that pops up between the workspace name and the global search field.
The sidebar is now hidden until you choose to view it again.
How to display the hidden sidebar
There are two ways to display the sidebar after hiding it: temporary or permanent.
- To temporarily view the hidden sidebar, move your cursor to the left of the screen. When you're done using the sidebar, move your cursor away. The sidebar will hide again.
